Senior Oracle Database Administrator for a 6 month contract in Alpharetta, GA to be a technical lead in our client's production support environment. The Senior Oracle DBA will primarily support Oracle environments but secondary skills in SQL Server or Greenplum are highly desirable.

Oracle Database Administrator Responsibilities:
- Design and execute Oracle DBMS deployments including related DBMS features like RAC, Partitioning,  Data Guard, and ASM
- Review existing Oracle DBMS deployments for potential improvements in availability and resiliency so SLAs can be achieved
- Actively monitor existing Oracle databases to identify high resource consuming SQL, and give application teams guidance and oversight in remediating issues
- Actively participate with Application teams to tune poor performing existing SQL
- Lead SQL design reviews with application teams through the SDLC
- Provide support for system troubleshooting of developed/installed/tested applications
- Provide Operations Support through ITIL Change, Incident and Problem management disciplines
- Assist in 24x7 support with rotating on-call schedule

 

Oracle Database Administrator Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of experience in Oracle 10g/11g DBMS, RAC, Dataguard, and ASM
- Experience with Oracle Grid Control 10g/11g
- Strong UNIX scripting skills
- Expertise with Enterprise Manager 10g/11g Grid Control for monitoring, tuning, and reporting Oracle 10g/11g databases in a production environment
- Demonstrated skills in database administration for Oracle 10g/11g, RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN

  Backup/Recovery, and troubleshooting in a production environment
- Strong experience in holistic DBMS/UNIX performance monitoring, measurement, reporting and tuning
- Expertise with SQL and PL/SQL through the Software Development Life Cycle
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL tuning skills
- Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving and communication skills

 

Other:

- Local Candidates Preferred but will consider Qualified candidates outside of the local geography

- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
