{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Fletchers Strikes

Just purchased an inflatable kayak and took it down to Fletchers today. Paddled upstream just south of Chain Bridge and floated down.  Took the flypole and spinning rod.  Didn't have any luck but I was amazed to see all the action on top of the water.  Numerous massive strikes that just thrashed the water.  Many of them startled me as they were close to the boat and fierce.  Anyone know what kind of fish these could have been.  Always nice having a bald eagle follow you along the river bank as I did today!
