Thanks all for the reply. I've gone back to Holmes once and again caught some small bluegills much to my daughter's delight. Also checked out Accotink creek off Little River Turnpike in Annandale but was not lucky there. Not a single hit. I was impressed by how pretty the area is. Will try to visit again next weekend.
Lastly spent half a day on Jeremy's run in SNP last Sunday. Gorgeous day caught some several small brookies while learning to cast in the tight canopy and overhead brush. No pictures sadly.
