Position: Build Engineer
Duration: 6+ Months
Rate: Best and lowest Possible
Location: Alpharetta, GA
Position Summary:
The Build Engineer will work with development team members and Deployment Engineer to create the workflow for continuous integration and formal release process. They will develop scripts, maintain build tier functionality, implement changes to build process in accordance with deployment functions, perform updates/upgrades to process templates, ensure software packages are properly built, analyzed and version controlled.
Position Responsibilities:
· Analyze and maintain build workflows scripts and identify requirements for installation processes and procedures.
· Execute/automated build scripts and ensure software is properly created.
· Implement changes to database modification process and data.
· Assist with deployment problems and questions and ensure adherence to all testing schedules and project deliverables.
· Administrator for Microsoft's Visual Studio's Team Foundation Server 2010.
· Identify defects and report problems with installation and implementation scripts and develop and implement workarounds if needed.
· Ascertain impact and communicate changes to build tier for all development and test environments to testers, developers and project managers.
· Perform dependency management for all build and installation processes.
· Maintain information regarding availability and impact of changes contained in software build packages and installers.
· Assist QA and Development with continuous improvement of processes and procedures related to software build and installer tools and technology.
· Assist QA with acceptance testing and performance testing of build packages and installers.
Position Requirements:
· B.S. Degree in IT/IS or Computer Science or a related field or equivalent discipline.
· 2-5 or more years of configuration management, release management, build management, or other software distribution/deployment related function.
· Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft's Team Foundation Server.
· Comprehensive knowledge and full life cycle experience in all facets of software deployment methodologies and best practices.
· Skilled at problem identification and resolution using industry standard troubleshooting tools and techniques.
· Strong analytical and expert level problem-solving skills and proficiency with creation of software build process.
· Experience as tools engineer and integration of analysis tools with development process using Unit Tests, Static Code Analysis, and Code Review processes.
· Hands-on experience with industry standard and best practice Object-Oriented software development practices.
· Detail-oriented, self-starter with excellent teamwork and relationship building skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
· Hands-on experience in with platform consisting of Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server, .Net Framework and SharePoint reporting platform.
· Experience in Agile environments and working with SCRUM teams and methodology.
· Experience in Financial services industry a plus.
