Role: Sr. Oracle DBA

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: Long term

 

Qualifications and Essential Job Functions

•             Bachelor degree, in Computer Engineering or Computer Science highly preferred, with 6+ years of relevant experience.

•             High level of expertise with implementing, managing and maintaining production Oracle R10g and R11g database environments.

•             Full product development experience patching, upgrading and managing development, QA/test and production databases.

•             Experience working with Unix, Linux (Red Hat 64-bit, preferred).

•             Working knowledge of one or more of the following database platforms, highly desired:  Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL.

•             Demonstrated experience working with Windows Server 2008 (64-bit), preferred.

•             Experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite (Oracle ERP R11 and R12), highly desirable.

•             Practical working knowledge with one or more of the following:  Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM); Oracle Performance Tuning; Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC); Oracle Application Server; Oracle Streams Replication and Oracle Identity Management.

•             Knowledge of design and normalization of databases.

•             ITIL knowledge and skill desirable, especially in change management and change request processes.

•             Skilled in project management with experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.

•             Demonstrated skill in technical documentation writing.

•             Ability to participate in a 24x7 pager/on call rotation.

•             Excellent verbal and written communication.

•             Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fluid environment and able to balance multiple projects and priorities.
