Title: Cisco Engineer

Location: Maiden, NC

Duration: Long term contract

Must-haves

1) Cisco Nexus or Cisco Catalyst 6500
2) Enterprise Environment - handle on call rotation, Work under pressure. data center experience
3) OSPF protocols

Pluses:

Juniper SRX- Enough to make changes or Cisco ASA firewalls

 

Responsibilities:

Respond, troubleshoot and resolve issues escalated by the NOC and internal systems, including developing, implementing and deploying emergency hot fixes within a global network environment with advanced configurations
-Monitor network utilization, capacity, and quality
-Ability to perform fault isolation and resolution in a methodical, thorough manner
-Make technical and process recommendations to prevent repeating outages
-Interpret operational data to proactively respond to network events
-Identify opportunities to automate tasks and maintain operational tools
-Work independently within a fast paced environment and deliver results under pressure

-Minimum seven years' experience as a Network Engineer in an operations role - core routing and switching expertise is required
-Experience configuring and debugging systems running Cisco NX OS, JunOS, and Citrix Netscaler
-Demonstrable ability to troubleshoot problems in unfamiliar configurations and in complex systems
-Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills, particularly as it relates to issue diagnosis and resolution
-Experience with network management applications and related protocols such as SNMP and Netflow
-Experience with common routing protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
-Excellent customer communication skills
-Demonstrable ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
-Prior experience working in a 24/7 operational environment
-Willing to work day, swing and night shifts on a rotating basis
-CCNA/CCNP/CCIE is strongly preferred
