Nice blue and channel bait. Well, after 4 seconds out of water they're mostly just channel bait. ;)

Went out to the Potomac today just up river of Chain Bridge (I call it the landing pad) this afternoon and managed to set a couple personal bests... Smallest fish I've ever caught (picture attached), then a striped bass which is my first from the Potomac, but also happened to be the smallest striper I've ever caught (about 6 inches). The striper took a yellow boogle bug. A kayaker going by told me some guys caught some 3 lb stripers up by Old Anglers, but I'm guessing they weren't actually stripers up there. There were tons of gizzard shad out again, but much bigger than the ones I posted about in 4MR. These were nearly all 12-14" with some pushing 16 inches. They're really seeming to displace other fish - even the sunfish that always hang around in the little pools between the rocks.--
