Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Personal "bests"

Nice baby shad pictured.  Did the scales come off on your hand like glitter?

Went out to the Potomac today just up river of Chain Bridge (I call it the landing pad) this afternoon and managed to set a couple personal bests... Smallest fish I've ever caught (picture attached), then a striped bass which is my first from the Potomac, but also happened to be the smallest striper I've ever caught (about 6 inches). The striper took a yellow boogle bug. A kayaker going by told me some guys caught some 3 lb stripers up by Old Anglers, but I'm guessing they weren't actually stripers up there. There were tons of gizzard shad out again, but much bigger than the ones I posted about in 4MR. These were nearly all 12-14" with some pushing 16 inches. They're really seeming to displace other fish - even the sunfish that always hang around in the little pools between the rocks.
