The biggest snakehead i caught was in front of the parking lot at Riverside Park at little hunting creek. I was there today and caught 5 and 6 pound bass but, the weeds have not grown in yet. I don't see snakeheads there usually until the grass grows in. That being said, the conditions at Kane Creek are ideal for snakeheads. I saw several large ones there when kayaking there last weekend. This is at Mason Neck State Park just off of route 1 in Lorton, VA. About 20 minutes from Alexandria. One could wade from the ranger station all the way around to the creek or rent a kayak. The bottom is hard/firm sand and the weeds are just the right height to hold fish but not tangle your fly on every cast. The top water bite was good too. This is a really beautiful place to fish too.
Hope this helps.
