Responsibilities
The Sr. Portal Engineer will be responsible for supporting portal solutions for the Extranet application.

Candidate Profile and Experience Prerequisites
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Highly skilled in developing automation scripts for WebSphere Application Server.
Experience in monitoring and tuning the Application Server.
Experience with open source application servers such as Tomcat, JBOSS etc.
Experience supporting Edge Caching/Proxy Server
Experience supporting IHS server software, including configuration file manipulation
Experience operating in a production support capacity including issue triage, troubleshooting and resolution which also includes opening, managing PMRs and collecting requisite information.
Good understanding of DB2 and other DBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostGreSQL)
Experience with build/deployment automation of Portal, J2EE artifacts
Apply fixes and feature packs for IBM WebSphere, Portal, IHS, Tivoli Directory Server
Strong understanding and experience supporting the production environment listed above on Linux (RedHat)
Experience or understanding of ESB architecture and components e.g. IBM MQ, Oracle ESB
Strong understanding of network administration concepts - subnets, private/public IP space, network load balancing, and TCP/IP protocols - and core IT security concepts
Define and document ongoing administration and maintenance tasks
Must be detail-oriented, extremely organized, and will have exceptional writing and communication skills.
Ability to operate effectively, and with a sense of possibility, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Must be passionate about Teach For America's mission.
Optional but a plus

8+ years' experience in supporting J2EE production portal environments
Work experience with WebSphere Portal Administration
