This is our direct-client opening for a QA Engineer located near Irvine, CA. This is a 6+ month contract and the rate is $35-45 C2C or around $40 on W2. Only local candidates to the area are being considered.
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring our clients web sites and solutions are of the highest quality in terms of functionality, usability, and reliability.
Position Functions:
Develop in-depth, comprehensive test cases to exercise the full complement of functionality available in our suite of products and web sites.
Perform test execution that exercises database impacts (grey box testing), regression testing, negative testing, usability test cases (black box testing), and component testing against web services and APIs (white box testing).
Participate in requirements review and provide feedback and recommendations to developers and product managers on software usability and functionality
Document Software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
Maintain and contribute to the automated test scripts to ensure currency
Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in enforcement of and optimization of the established Quality Processes and procedures across the entire Global Ecommerce Group Organization
Experience (and other qualifications):
Minimum of 5 years of software quality assurance experience, preferably with web applications in the software development industry
Strong analytical skills and experience with implementation and administration of Software Quality Assurance metrics, such as defect profiles and performance to entry/exit criteria.
Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
Ability to perform complex SQL queries, sub queries, and joins
Competency in an least one of the following interpreted scripting (PHP, VBScript, JavaScript) or OO compiled languages (Java, C#.NET, or VB.NET) to script test automation libraries and perform code reviews
Ability to maintain and measure defect metrics to report to management
Strong Understanding of requirements-based and risk-based testing and software development life cycles
Extensive experience working in a development environment that follows both Waterfall and Agile (SCRUM) methodologies
Working knowledge of UNIX shell commands
