I have the Panasonic lumix DMC-TS3. It takes good pictures in most situations and the underwater pictures are decent, but low light is not great. The menu is pretty easy to navigate, I've taken it snorkeling, wading and use it as an all around point and shoot. Most of the pictures ive posted on here are from it. When purchasing I read a lot of reviews on amazon and decided on this one. One of the major drawbacks with the touch screen cameras was that the functionality was useless when wet, which was why I went with the Panasonic.
I completely agree with rob about the lanyard, if you are taking it wading or to the beach buy a chums floating lanyard, the cameras are waterproof and shock proof, but they sink like stones without one.
On a somewhat related issue, I was thinking about getting an entry level dslr camera, any advice/ recommendations would be appreciated.
