How did you do? As mentioned below white perch are fun to catch in the shallows. Nanjemoy used to be a really good bass fishery but I think it's been fished hard and all the tournament fish get released in Mattawoman, and never find their way back. Fall was the best but I fished it 2 years ago in October and found nothing, a real disappointment.

You used to be able to drop a kayak or canoe in where the road crosses in the upper end but a lot of deadfalls make Friendship Landing the only viable option unless you know somebody.
