Misha and I went out (him: inflatable kayak, me: my solo canoe, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Jr.) around Violette's Lock on Monday, when it was really too cold for me to be outside. Not my favorite day of fishing ever, but we both managed to produce nice fish. We were testing the advice in Clouser's book to fish deeper holes in early winter for big fish; it sort of worked, though there were not many deep holes (~10 ft.) that we could find in that stretch of the river. Good luck.
