{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} First Timer

MY wife, Robin and I went camping this past weekend at Pocomoke State Park, Shad Landing. Ok, it wasn't camping. It was RV'ing in our new travel trailer. Anyway that's beside the point.

The point is that Robin has never been fly fishing or even shown any interest. We didn't bring our canoe or kayak which turns out to be a good thing. There's a pond at the campground that looked hind of fishy so I decided to throw a few flies. A little while later Robin walks up and says, "So. How does this fly fishing thing work?" My jaw dropped. Then I rigged up the 4wt with a Caddis and showed her the basics of casting. Within 5 minutes she caught the beauty you see below.

Back to the 4wt. I bought it last year for Robin. Actually it was a Homer Simpson gift. Well, now it really is hers.

We fished the pond for a couple of hours. Robin caught 6 Sunfish to my 5. All of hers were bigger.

I guess I know what she's getting for Christmas!

Regards,
Bryan
