Hi All;
We're desperately seeking volunteers at very short notice to help a pair of Trout in the Classroom releases from 10 AM to around 1 PM on Friday, May 9. One release will involve 100 youngsters from two middle schools at Little Seneca Creek next to The Lodge at 14500 Clopper Road near Boyds. The Lodge is five miles (around 10 minutes' drive) west on Clopper Road (Route 117) from
Exit 10 (Clopper Road/ West DiamondAvenue) on I-270 northbound. For that release we're especially interested in someone to help the students with a stream survey to collect and identify macroinvertibrates and other waterborne critters and someone to help teach basic casting to student groups.
Women casting mentors would be especially welcome as role models since more than 60% of Trout in the Classroom participants are girls.
Please phone or email if you're interested and we'll get in touch right away.
Thanks much.
