Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Constitution Gardens

The Constitution Gardens is too small a place to tell you where to stand and fish.  You should be able to fish the entire place in a few hours.

The fish kill definitely had an impact, but you’ll see fish.

There are stories from way back about the bass that used to be in there, and people would watch the ducklings disappear underneath big boils of water.  That doesn’t happen anymore.

Black Dahlberg Divers #6 work well if you’re fishing around structure, but keep in mind, it’s not a phenomenal fishery to begin with, so if you land 1 or 2 fish, you’ve actually had a good day there.

Subject: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Constitution Gardens

I haven't, but have been by CG on my way to the tidal basin a few times lately, and I've been wondering the same thing.  I always take a look from the sidewalk, but haven't seen any aquatic life besides some ducks.  Assuming I can sneak out of the office by a reasonable hour, I was planning on fishing the tidal basin again.  I'm tempted to throw a line in on my way by.

Does anyone who's fished CG successfully in the past have tips on a good spot - the little island, perhaps?  I have no idea where the structure is in there, and I'd hate to bring back a false negative.

Hey everybody!

Has anyone tried CG this year? I know they had a bad fish kill last year. Any info would be, like, awesome!

Thanks!
Mike
