{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Deer Creek Shad Fishing

Hey all,

Would anybody want to go Shad fishing with me to Deer Creek, MD? I know most people are pumped about Shad fishing the Fletcher ' s area. However Deer Creek is a totally different scene. Deer Creek is a mid-size stream which is easily wadable. There I am casting a 4wt with a floating line and maybe a sink tip or maybe some shot attached.

Deer Creek is also quite pristine and you see almost no trash or litter in the area. There are plenty of wildflowers along the trails following the stream and when the Shad are in, lots of bird life including bald eagles, great blue herons, and ospreys. In addition you usually see mallards and wood ducks on Deer Creek as well and lots of other wildlife. You also see wild turkeys in the area.

Deer Creek is North of Baltimore about an hr 20 min drive from the DC area. If anyone is interested they can contact me by my email directly.
