I've been doing likewise but with the Salmon River and Pulaski over the last 35+ years via I-81. ;-)
-- The Pine Creek Valley ("Grand Canyon of the East") is essentially parallel to US15 and a little bit to the west. Two Pine Creek tribs of note are Cedar Run and Slate Run. Google/Bing 'em. Also check the PA Fish and Boat Commission web site: they have some cool GIS mapping that will help your narrow things down.
