In Utah they use a similar trout (though they might be true albino rainbows). The purpose of these trout is to prove that the fish and game stocked the water, since many fisherman won't see the natural colored fish against the cobbled freestone bottoms.
However the albino's there don't act like normal trout. They are more like whitefish, hanging in deep holes and eating things off the bottom. They don't seem to come up for a hatch.Carl
