I forgot to mention a time, 11 am to 1 pm.

Hey everyone, I hope you are doing well.

As you are all aware the shad and other species will be arriving anytime now. I want to start a clean up on 4-20 (what better day to go green) to celebrate the occasion because frankly I am tired of hiking through garbage only to fish beside more garbage.

I'm coordinating with the Arlington Master Naturalists as well as the Virginia Stream Monitors, and was hoping some of you would be interested. I definitely need some help with the fishing but maybe you can get your hands dirty too. Honestly, I anticipate more people will be interested with your catch more so than trying themselves, but you never know.

We can also use this event to spread knowledge on the different shad and herring. There is a lot of good stuff we can share about their history, life cycle, and how some are protected.

Depending on numbers we could hit both sides, but DC is by far worse so we should start there. I'll try and have the Naturalists provide garbage bags and the clean up material. Maybe some of you can bring an extra spinning rod and if you have some darts to spare, even better. I'll make sure to stock up though so who ever wants to fish can.

Please let me know if you would be interested in helping.
