Just a bit -- sharp teeth, but no jaw pressure = some bleeding but not much else.  

I'm always 100% willing to get bitten to capture a good (non-venomous) snake.  I once chased a eastern coachwhip across a highway and into a tree, then knocked him down with a big stick and finally got him in the bag after being bitten at least 10 times.  They're a fun one to wrangle...black ratsnakes are a mixed bag.  Some are pretty placid, others bite and musk like crazy.

I did turnover a few larger mayfly nymphs  -- but mostly tiny ones. 
 
The black ratsnake getting some sun was very cool.  I was complaining about having not seen any snakes yet this spring, so he was a welcome sight.  Beautiful specimen! 
 
Best weekend of fishing we've had in a long time -- we might have set the bar high for the rest of the year.  I think I lost 5 pounds -- this is by far the most physical fishing I've ever done.
