Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Spey practice during shutdown?

One day about a year ago Beth pulled a pretty nice smallmouth off that tree -- so don't stomp up to it too quickly ;).

4MR is probably your best bet, especially if moving water is a priority.  If you wade out to the gravel bar with the downed tree on it right next to the discharge, you can practice both river left and river right casts depending on which way you are facing.  This is due to the natural downstream current of 4MR and the manmade current flowing 90 degrees into it out of the discharge.  The downed tree is also a great place to store several 2-handers if you are experimenting with multiple rigs during the same outing.

I was hoping to get out to Fletcher's next week to get some spey practice in with a new rod, reel, and a couple of lines but it now looks like that won't be an option.  4MR will work in a pinch, but are there any other easily accessed locations around the city with some moving water to give the long rod a go?  Fish are not necessary, just working on casting.  Thanks.
