Who knew one could catch LAMPREY on a fly rod? Well you can if one is attached to a Shad! Today In just a few hours around lunchtime I caught my first ever hickories (6) casting from the rocks above Fletcher's by doing exactly what Dan and the other TPFR members had advised. On the first one, a 6 inch lamprey was a bonus! I was amazed. Do you all think that thing came in all the way from the Atlantic Ocean attached to my Shad? I tried to grab the slimy little bugger to get a closer look at it but it seemed to want to attach itself to my hand so I dropped it in a hurry.
Thanks to everyone who makes this group what it is. I tend to agree pink was the most productive color today, I also got a couple on some sparkly things I'd tied up and decided to try.
