I've heard they are more common upstream around Harper's Ferry as well.

January. I have caught them at the Tidal basin, Chain Bridge and below the Great Falls.
I've caught them all on a spinning tackle, never on fly.

Sent from my iPhone--Hello all,Some of you may know me from the Orvis store in Arlington. This is my first post so here it goes. After work last night I decided to head down to the point. I had no wadders so I started fishing up by the bridge form the shore, at around 8:00 PM or so I caught a white perch a few cast after that I caught a large mouth.I picked up and moved over to the right side of the docks in the open area. At about 9:10 I hooked up and reeled in about a 20" Walleye. I heard that there has been some others to catch them. My question is, is there any other stories like this, and where did they come from? Also how long have they been in the Potomac? Growing up it was to my under standing that they were a northern cold water fish and more toward the mid west. I only ask this question because it seemed a little strange to me. Any answers would be great. Apologies for not having Pictures.Mike Dailey--
