I went to school at Lafayette, so the Lehigh was nearby. I imagine you are talking about quite a bit higher up on the Lehigh (I was near where it dumped into the Delaware), but the section I went to wasn't particularly well known for trout - that I know of, anyway. I fished it a few times, but only targeted smallmouth. I didn't know about the Shad run up there while I was still at the school. Any time I wanted to go for trout, I typically hit the Bushkill which bordered my campus.

I want to plan a long weekend trout fishing trip for sometime around May this spring. I'm thinking of heading up to PA and try some of the famous streams that I hear all about but have yet to try. I've narrowed it down to three options:Central PA (Penns Cr. Little Juniata)Pine Creek Watershed (Slate, Cedar Run)Lehigh RiverAny thoughts, or experiences? Also, any recommendations on lodging/campgrounds, and fly shops in the area?Thanks!--
