You forgot to mention your fish were under someone else's boat!

I picked up my first shad today, then about 6 more afterwards. I spent a little over three hours on the Potomac in front of Fletchers (on a boat) with Lane from a little before 11 til just after 2. Lane got 4 or so as well on spinning gear. After looking at some websites to ID them, I'm fairly certain we had a mix of Hickory and American, but I'm not 100% sure. The hottest time seemed to be between 12 and 1, which would've been leading right up to high tide. During that time, it seemed at least one boat was hooked up at all times, and Lane and I even pulled a double. The interesting thing I saw was they seemed to be all over the water column without any consistency. Most of mine were pretty deep, but I did get a couple without letting it drop too much. Lane also caught one in less than three feet of water just as his lure was about back at the boat. Pink also seemed to be the color today. I got all mine on a pink shad fly that I tied off of one of Rob Snowhite's tutorials. Lane was getting skunked until he switched to a lure with pink in it as well. Lots of birds also caught fish today too.--
