Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Club Casting Clinic Sunday, March 3 and other upcoming events

Hey guys,

I am planning on attending, and was going to bike there as I don't own a car. But then I thought I would check to see if anyone is going to be driving from the Dupont area and doesn't mind a passenger?

Thanks,

Thomas

While it is free, Dan neglected to mention the wandering "boathouse gang" that is sometimes known for jacking people as they pass through that stone tunnel under the canal.

They usually wear sunglasses, a ball cap, and loose-fitting clothing in the spring/summer.  They may even be carrying fishing rods or kayaks and appear pretty friendly.  Sometimes they might even say things like "beautiful day isn't it?" or "how you doing?" but don't be panic.  Just give your car a lot of gas and never stop in the tunnel!  You'll be fine ;).

Hi,

I am just shooting out a notice that John Bilotta (Master Certified Casting Instructor) and I will be holding a casting clinic at Fletcher's Cove on Sunday, March 3 from 8:30-10:00. We will help out with both single-hand and two-handed casting (John will probably have some spare spey rods if you want to give this a go). If there is anything you want to work on or just want to tune up your general skills, we will help out.

Additionally, we have added a few additional events to our webpage here: http://www.tpfr.org/events.htm

On the following Sunday, March 10, we will have a table at the NCC-TU Angling Show at Georgetown Prep in North Bethesda. Lefty Kreh will be there doing a casting demonstration, there will be lots of guides, local vendors and other local fishing non-profits. For more details, go here.

Also, as Dan has sent out recently we have several more Beer Tie's and our four year anniversary party scheduled at Whitlow's.

Dalton
