Burke Lake
My kid and I walked the dam at Burke Lake yesterday. Bluegill are on a second spawn in shallows between shore and willows. Water was super clear (all local streams were/are blown out. The kid and I checked out the spillway at Lake Jackson and it was raging, Bull Run went up to 12' yesterday). We were looking for snakehead and saw one and got a few casts in before it swam off into the depths. Small dry flies will do well on the non-spawning fish. Every cast on the lake side of the willows was met with several bluegill.
Art and I discuss Burke on a podcast recorded last night.

If you have recently had a fun fishing trip and would like to share your adventures with your fellow TPFR anglers, please send a brief write-up and pics to contact@tpfr.org. We will post it in our next newsletter. We know there are lots of hardcore fishing folks in this group so share those stories so those of us not fishing have something to daydream about.
