[homefamilyarticles] Isaiah 26:3-6

Greetings our dearly beloved friend.

Isaiah 26:3
New International Version
3 You will keep in perfect peace
    those whose minds are steadfast,
    because they trust in you.

Isaiah 26:3
New Living Translation
3 You will keep in perfect peace
    all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Isaiah 26:3-6
The Message
Stretch the Borders of Life
26 1-6 At that time, this song
will be sung in the country of Judah:
We have a strong city, Salvation City,
    built and fortified with salvation.
Throw wide the gates
so good and true people can enter.
People with their minds set on you,
    you keep completely whole,
Steady on their feet,
because they keep at it and don't quit.
Depend on God and keep at it
because in the Lord God you have a sure thing.
Those who lived high and mighty
he knocked off their high horse.
He used the city built on the hill
    as fill for the marshes.
All the exploited and outcast peoples
build their lives on the reclaimed land.

Isaiah 26:3
Amplified Bible
3
"You will keep in [a]perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both [b]inclination and character],
Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].

Footnotes
Isaiah 26:3 Lit peace, peace, a Hebrew idiom of emphasis.
Isaiah 26:3 The Hebrew word for inclination became a technical term in Jewish tradition, and the rabbis frequently referred to the "evil inclination" much in the same sense as the sin nature. They also recognized a "good inclination," which the righteous choose to follow, and urged people to make their good inclination king over the evil inclination.
Isaiah 26:3
King James Version
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
