For winter trout fishing, I'd prefer MD. Three good tailwater streams with wild fish open year round that are within 3 hours--Gunpowder, Savage and NB. All these are easy to wade. If you have a boat and fish for musky, then VA. It also has some trout streams open year.

I'm curious what people's preferences are. To make the survey imperfectly fair let's phrase the question this way: If you were a trout fisherman living in DC and had to choose between purchasing a Non-resident trout fishing license in either Virginia or Maryland this winter, which would you chose and why?givens:-price differences between licenses are nominal-driving proximity to the heart of DC to be consideredDiscuss.
