I've taken one bad spill in felts in the SNP from a mossy rock, and sometimes wet leaves are problematic.  Overall though, I'll take....well, in this order if I can choose --

Felt + studs

Rubber + studs

Felt

Rubber

By all means though, try some types and see what suits you best.  Whatever keeps you upright and fishing ;).

Per soles, I'll stopped wearing felt after slipping down a wooden staircase in RMNP. I took one step and it was like wearing ice skates. My wife found me at the bottom like this
