I second the West branch of the Delaware. Large, technical river, perfect for a float trip. Plus there are smaller streams around to wade if you want a change in scenery.
I stayed at and floated with West Branch Anglers and Resort. They were great and have an outfitting store onsite.They are on the NY side of the river.
