Casting for Recovery Needs You!
Folks, autumn is here, and Casting for Recovery has two events that could use your expert help:
Do you fish well enough to take a newbie on the stream, and would you like to help a breast cancer survivor discover
the wonderful curative powers of the outdoors and our favorite sport?
We need River Helpers for the Retreat Fishing Day on Sunday, September 21, on Beaver Creek near Hagerstown.
14 hands are needed, and so far I have 6. We can handle any special training on the morning of the retreat, so don't feel shy!
Lunch and warm fuzzy memories provided to all volunteers.
[Lady anglers: fly fishing staff are needed for the retreat Sept 19-21 as well!]
If September 21 is inconvenient, how about working as a Stream Monitor at our 2 Fly 4 Hope Fly Fishing Challenge on Sunday, October 26?
12 very competitive teams of two angers each will take to the Rose River at Doug Dear's farm, and we need you to keep them honest!
No angling skills or talents required. Stream monitors work with each team to record the fish caught. This requires patience,
a pair of waders, and tolerance for watching someone else fish. Lunch provided.
Look for me at the meetings in September and October, or e-mail me, or call me up. I know I can count on you!
