Some of the stretches will be low and you'll be dragging, but fishing should be good. We've had good luck in the floats we've done this year with the usual poppers and various streamers. Woolly buggers and small calf tail clousers work well -- it's all good.

You should still be able to get some topwater action this time of year. Blue is the famous color, but I've seen chartreuse work well, as well as some bigger white/green gurglers. It's getting towards the end of the season, so bring some streamers as well. Your standard clousers will work (olive and white tends to produce well for me there), but one of my favorite patterns on the Shenandoah mimics a hogsucker. Murray's fly shop is a bit out of your way probably, but you can look up the pattern there. On Mon, Sep 15, 2014 at 10:50 AM, Bob Richey <bob.r...@gmail.com> wrote:--Hey all,I'm heading to Luray for the coming weekend. Any advice on fishing the south fork this time of year, such as best time of day and flies? Thanks in advance.
