{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: How do we live with out this?

Bruce -

Instead of "10 to 2" on your cast, think "9:30 to 12:30"

Use a length of line about the same (or slightly less) length as your rod and use 18" of 7X tippet.  You can go longer on the line and the tippet when you find your cast, but this is what I've set up my kids with and they're casting like champs!

Also I keep my index finger on top of the grip and find myself using a lot less finger pressure holding the rod - finesse casting.

The two pictures should help with stringing up the rod.

I'll be out Saturday (around 1100) if you need some help - that work stuff keeps getting in the way of my fishing...

Military Grade Portable Smartphone Fishfinding Sonar  (http://www.fishhunter.com/)  Very tightly integrated with your smart phone but more expensive than the Hummingbird model I have.  Vic has me moving towards Tenkara - only a rod , a line and a fly.  Gotta try that new Tenkara Rod from the Somerset show out.  Solunar chart says Thursday Noon - weatherman seems to be cooperating - I might have to duck out of work for a couple of hour tomorrow morning (4MR).  No sonar.
