{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Potomac and Beaver Creek Fishing Report 9.30.13

I fished GP yesterday morning around 9AM, Lots of bait and weeds in the water but not a ton of fish. I caught a few Stripers in the 12" range before my sinking line started snagging the bottom to often for me to put up with. Not satisfied with the bend the Stripers put in my 8wt, I did what any self respecting fisherman would do...I drove the hour up to Beaver Creek to fish for Brown Trout on a 4wt. As I pulled in I saw the back of a familiar SUV, tattooed with fishing bumper stickers, and new Remick was on the water. We linked up and caught some browns on small BWO's, Adams, and Midges. The Big fish of the day came on a size 12 tungsten Stonefly in Black about 4 feet under an indicator... he glided back into the hole he had come from, past the yellow leaves that had fallen into the water, it was gorgeous.
