{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Gravelly Point Legal Issue?

I think this has already been spelled out many times in the other thread when you basically said the exact same thing -- but other people reading this thread might be confused about why anyone would care if Remick was indeed fishing "after hours" and received a ticket. So a quick summary:

Remick was fishing after hours and was ticketed.  The ticket was not for "fishing/entering the park after hours" but was instead for the nebulous "entering the water/river".  Since most people who've waded Gravelly Point had no idea that there was a prohibition against wading, this ticket is troublesome to *some of the people in this club.  Given, being there after hours could have conceivably raised the hackles on the NPS officer -- and I think if Remick were indeed ticketed for entering the park after hours, no one on here would be involved with any of this (though I've met Remick and he's a nice guy -- I'm sure he wouldn't be offended by this and would probably agree).

So it is what the ticket says that has resulted in all this back and forth.  Hopefully that helps anyone who didn't see the other thread -

I will not respond to anything else you say because I believe your posts basically read "Remick is stupid", but man I'm glad I don't work for a shop, guide, etc. where I'd have to pretend to be polite to people like you.

You guys have to see that this guy was fishing in an area that's closed at night next to an airport on the door step of the nations capital. It comes a time when you have to say that was a stupid thing to do and no fish is worth a run in with the US park police or homeland security. There are plenty of spots on the Potomac to fish do you really have to be in a closed area, in the water next to a runway gate at night after 9/11 just next to Washington.

What ever happened to the guy who was charged with fishing at night at Gravelly Point?  Did anyone get a resolve to the legality of wading and fishing at Gravelly Point?

I am just curious because we should start seeing the stripers run in a few weeks.
