I got one around 8:30 - also on a white CK Baitfish. Personal best for me - between 16" and 18".
The weeds were really bad, though - thick mats of floating weeds that got tangled around the fly and fly line. Was thinking a stripping basket might have been useful.
Also saw tons of baby Shad feeding on the surface. I missed seeing the meteorite though...

--Rebecca Davenport, Scott Stankus and I fished the tide change at Gravelly tonight. Me and Davenport spotted a meteor over DC which was pretty awesome.I had two hook ups. First one broke me off on a 12lb tippet and was the hardest bite I've ever experienced around here, similar to a steelhead. Next cast after I rigged up was with a white CK Baitfish. First cast got me a fat striper, probably the 3rd biggest I've pulled out of the Potomac. I left at 7:45.Glad Trent got into some Mr. Pajama Pants tonight too.#TPFRRob Snowhite

--I fished the Tidal Basin from about 4-430 this afternoon. The incoming tide was beginning to peter out as I arrived, but I still stuck a handful of Stripers around 12" each. Being that I was in jeans and flip-flops, I called it quits as the tide began to overtake the concrete walkway I was standing on. Size 2 Chart/White Clousers on a sinking line did the trick.
