{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Utah trip report

If a day spent fishing adds a day to your life I just added a year in only a weeks time. Utah is amazing. Fished Asay creek near Hatch UT.for 3 days and had a ball catching 8-16" browns and rainbows. Elk haired caddis with a p.t. Nymph dropper did the trick mornings and evenings. Mid-day switched to a hopper/ dropper. Caddis hatch at night looked like it was snowing. 20+ fish days. Next I took a day off and was amazed by the sandstone formations of Bryce Canyon. On the way out I stopped a a bar-b-q place for dinner, added bonus was a guy who played the best blues music I've heard. Next stop was the Dixie N.F. Fished Panguitch lake. Caught a few but more casting practice than catching. Nice area for camping 8500 ft. Elev. cool at night. Next stop Mamouth creek. I fished the upper end a mile below the spring at its head waters. Brooke's and rainbows 8-14 in. In an afternoon landed about 12 Brooke's and 8 bows. Largest 14" bow in the prime feeding spot at top of a pool. Finished up the trip at Zion N.P. hiked Angles landing trail and the narrows which is hiking through the Virgin river with canyon wall on either side. My wadding staff came in real handy.
I highly recommend fishing this area. You don't hear a lot about trout fishing in Ut. I hope the pictures attached. Terry
