{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Saturday Fishing - Potomac River

Fairfax's Riverbend Regional Park is nice and wadeable, I was there for the first time this past Saturday acquainting a friend with spin fishing for bass - we only caught one smallie, but that's okay since we were mostly into shooting the breeze until noon time. That day, Little Falls gage was about 3.6 and dropping, water temp mid 80s and Point of Rocks was 2.5 and dropping too. As of right now the gage height at both locations continues to drop and the water's cooler, so conditions ought to be decent come Saturday. I may escape on Friday to the other side of the river at Violette's Lock if I can get a visit to the dentist and lawn mowing done expeditiously. ;-)

Riverbend also rents boats, canoes and kayaks, but I didn't look too closely at the rates. You can check with the park authority, http://1.usa.gov/13mtif1  I'm sure you 'll get plenty of other comments on Riverbend from TPFRodders
