I worked for a Native dealer all though high school and college - their boats are, as a complete line, the best recreational kayaks out in my opinion. I paddled a Slayer for a hot minute and I liked it enough to buy it if I was in the market for a new fishing kayak. Not as dry as an Ultimate, but much easier to stand up in than a Ride.

So I also bought a wilderness systems commander and it does a lot better on large open bodies of water. Its faster and paddles a lot straighter. The slayer looks like it has the best of both worlds. Nice flat standing platform which I think is a must for fly fishing. I strongly suggest going out and paddling one before you buy it. try to find a local dealer having a demo day or try one of the kayak shops on the bay in Annapolis.--
