In addition to poppers and gurglers, try almost anything that floats and makes a commotion At Widewater 2 weeks ago the two bass I caught were taken on unweighted Yuck Bugs. Almost anything that makes a commotion on the surface will tempt Mr. Largemeouth.
I live not far from Needwood. Did you fish from a boat? the bank? That little pond behind Needwood Mansion?
Find me at the Beer Tie if you're coming tonight, I'm tying gurglers.

This healthy largemouth was my only hookup for today at Lake Needwood in MD. It propelled itself out of the water multiple times as it attempted to throw the hook.
