Hi TPFRers,

Maryland is currently considering two new catch & release ("zero creel") regulations for brook trout in the state of Maryland. We're asking that TPFR members consider voicing their support. Anticipating the likely comments about stocking in brook trout streams, one of the regs is in fact for brook trout in Maryland to be catch & release in all put & take waters. TPFR, NCC-TU, Fly Fishers International and Trout Unlimited have all voiced their opposition to stocking in Maryland waters known to harbor native brook trout. That bigger issue in Maryland remains an ongoing one that TU in particular, and increasingly FFI, is working on in the state. For now, we believe this is a step in the right direction.
