{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Beer Tie tomorrow, Monday February 12 at Whitlow’s

We'll be tying a variation on Pat Ehler's 'Grim Reaper' fly tomorrow. It is his version of a pig and jig lure. These are big flies so you'll need at least a 6wt to toss them. I purchased zonker strips for the tail as the ultra suede doesn't come in enough colors and costs much more. The pattern has 4 ingredients and is very easy to tie.

My best day using this fly was on a creek in Ohio last July 4. I got some big smallies and a feisty channel cat.

February's Beer Tie is coming up tomorrow night at Whitlow's on Wilson in the Back Bar (formerly known as the Sandbar). Doors open at 6PM and we'll get moved to Art's legal corner at 10. As always, burgers are half priced and we'll have a beer special.

At the learning table, Rob Snowhite will be teaching the Reaper Fly, a zonker-tailed streamer. We'll supply the materials and vises, just bring a good attitude to join in.

See you all tomorrow,
Dalton
