{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Lake Thompson (WMA) closed

Was on the 'new' VDGIF website today and saw a notice that Lake Thompson off 66 near Markham is now closed until further notice.

https://www.dgif.virginia.gov/waterbody/lake-thompson/

I called and the woman I spoke to confirmed that the lake was once again experiencing drainage issues and has been closed to the public since mid July. Previously a class "A" stocking location with 8 stockings a year, trout will no longer be stocked there.

Bummer. One less trout (stocker) and smallmouth spot within an hour drive of DC.

Also, she mentioned that while daily Fall stocking information should be posted on the 'new' website when it begins, archived trout stocking (location) information may not be accessible for some time.
