Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Anyone know anything about fishing Northern Wisconsin?

I was just up in Winter, Wisconsin. That storm on Wednesday night was crazy... 5+ inches of rain in 3 hours! We ended up fishing Mason lake on Thursday morning and then a section on the Chippewa River in the afternoon and evening. Mason lake was slow, but still brought 1 fish to hand - the Chip showed us 5 fish, with 1 in the boat.

Other than going to a lake, I think you're next best option is to visit the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward.

Drinking Beer.  It's a Wisconsin vocation.

I stayed here years ago.  Long enough ago that it is probably under new management.
Just start googling for lodges or boat houses up in that area and make some calls.

There are a ton of lodges in those lakes up by Hayward.  I have no idea if those lakes are fishable with the current conditions, but there is a lot of still water with musky and walleye.

Probably a long shot, but I am headed up to Hayward Wisconsin this weekend and was supposed to floating for Musky for 3 days.  Turns out that they got a bunch of rain the other night pushing the rivers to nearly unfishable levels.  My guide has gone ahead and cancelled our day Saturday so I am looking for options other than watching college football and drinking beer.  Anyone been in that area and know of any smaller waters or lakes/ponds that might be good.  If that later an ability to rent some type of vessel would be preferred.  Thanks for any suggestions.  I'm waiting to hear back from my guide to see what he suggests but figured I would try on here as well.
