Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Fishing 4MR - not where you think

I live very close to this stretch of 4MR. Between exercise runs and endless walks with the stroller during the early months of fatherhood, I've probably walked/scanned this strech of 4MR 200 times.

Unfortunately the stretch around Bluemont up to Wilson Blvd is pretty shallow and I have never seen anything with fins besides a handful of small bluegill that hang out under Carlin Springs and sometimes under Wilson Blvd. 

Not that it is worth the walk down further, but I usually see a few more BG's further down by the playground near the Glenncarlyn dog park (the foot bridge). 

Further down where S Arlington Mill DR stops running parallel along the creek there are also a few deep pools which will also probably have a few BG's. There is also a small "natural area" pond along the bike path there with lots of goldfish and small BG's in it.

When I google-mapped the location I found that it is on Four Mile Run creek between Wilson Blvd and Arlington Blvd (HWY 50).

Since I'm going to be there anyway I'm thinking about bringing along a 3wt and see if there are any bluegills in there.

Anyone ever fished that section?
