I went to school at WVU so I spent a good bit of time on that river around Barnum. I personally love it at the 300-350 cfs range. When its lower, the fish are spookier and stick to deeper water. The gorge section is good at lower flow. Feel free to shoot me a message.
Thanks,

Hi folks - I'm looking to get out on the North Branch of the Potomac (upper and/or lower sections) this coming weekend. I've been up there when water levels are high and it's very difficult (not to mention unsafe) to fish in high water, but I haven't experienced it with lower than normal levels. Just checked USGS and both upper and lower sections are running lower than historical averages. Anyone have thoughts on the how it fishes in lower conditions? I assume it will make it just that much easier to wade and find the fish, but like I said, never been up there under such conditions. Thoughts?--Thanks.
