Greetings:
www.fishingcommunity.org is a local nonprofit that has used 100% of revenues for programs, and includes fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing. We also include veterans of all types and their families because we believe all who have served should fish (as should the rest of the world, but you can only do so much!). Several of you helped us last year with our wounded heroes Shad Event, which worked out really well, pictures on our web site. We help out with the Cub Scouts and other groups when possible.
We're looking for help on a number of fronts;
Volunteers: We have 10-15 events this year, mostly Saturday Family Fishing days. We can use help in both fishing and non-fishing areas.
Old gear: We both use and sell any excess to help fund our efforts.
Instructors: We have multiple classes throughout the year at the USO at Fort Belvoir. Fly tying is one we'd like to offer, and there is room for a couple more fly casting instructors.
